An Amazing new line up and She Beats II, 2017!
Such a powerhouse crew of female dancers and performers on stage at the historic Parkway Theater of Minneapolis. The evening was filled with heart, smarts, and refined talent from the streets of the twin cities. Ladies poured forth their skillz alongside Hope to support the release of her new CD, Bring to Light.
The artists included musicians: Manchita, K Raydio, Maxee, and Hazel Howl; modern dancers: Taja Will, the Energy Dance Collective, and Crash Dance Productions; and DJ Neekasodope. Hope's music videos were featured on the theaters large movie screen as a back drop throughout the show.
Once again, this event was co- produced by the prolific Amanda Leaveck, movement artist and founder of Face Forward, a non-profit organization which creates events and opportunities for diverse artists in the twin cities.
Hope will be performing again this year to her Minnesota fam, this time as a solo musician at Project Earth. This gathering is a fundraiser for the Be the Change foundation. It is a gathering that is acoustic in the forest with space for the Harmony Spirits to play. Intimate fire light stages in the forest. Outside Minneapolis, Minnesota~ just before Summer Solstice!
Honored to have the opportunity to perform music with Nahko in Los Angeles at a fundraiser to raise funds in attempt to release Red Fawn from incarceration. She was unfairly taken while protecting the water on Native American land in the face of the construction of the North Dakota Pipeline.
We joined together with many indigenous voices at this event in solidarity to listen, share and witness each others dances, prayers, and stories of struggle and great efforts towards righteousness.
There was also a powerful art exhibit of Native American prints from over the years of imagery inspiring people to overturn oppression.
