Art: Hope has been painting since childhood. She studied art at the university level, and has held many solo shows of her work. She often combines rich color and lines, poetry, mixed media and textures of natural earth elements to tell the story of her journeys and create worlds seen through her dreams, travels, and visions. Hope paints images of empowered multi cultural women in their most creative states. Her newest works include a series of large (3ft to 5ft.) acrylic paintings on canvas and well as a miniature SpiritKeeper series (10" to 14") of mixed media on paper.
Hope's art currently shows at the Wild Heartist Gallery in Hilo, Hawaii.
Environmental & Social Projects : Hope was a founding board member of Tryon Life Comunity Farm, an environmental education center in Portland, Oregon. She co-created and taught their community & youth education program, which includes a fusion of permaculture, natural building, sustainable energy, the arts and social justice. Hope was also a board member of Honor the Earth for 3 years, an indigenous environmental justice project, working alongside the Indigo Girls and Winona LaDuke.
